Overview

The Framer is a particularly powerful role capable of bring distrust towards players claiming Sheriffs or Investigators as well as being capable of deceiving the Town into lynching a power role. The general principle of the play is relatively luck inclined towards the start of the day and potentially devastating towards the town by the end of the game.

A Framer is capable of targeting a player at night, if a Sheriff or Investigator investigates that player at night they will view them as Guilty.

Strategy

  • Do not frame players already cleared by Sheriffs or Investigators as they will not be checked again
  • It is not uncommon for player's roles to come into question during a trial, these players are the most likely to be checked the following night and should consequently be framed.
  • Once a player has been successfully framed and lynched the Mafia then has a pseudo-control over the Sheriff as the Town’s trust for them would have dwindled significantly; this is particularly evident if a Framer has been selected at random. The Mafia can then utilize this to bluff being framed.
  • The Framer may appear as not suspicious to the Sheriff (depending on the settings) so this can allow him to draw a little more attention to himself, but beware of the Investigator.

Options

Notes

  • Framers may appear as not suspicious to Sheriffs depending on settings.
