Overview

The Lover is a Neutral Benign role with a goal of surviving with the player they choose to fall in love with until the end of the game. It does not matter which faction wins so long as the lover and their love survives.

If the lover is killed, the person they love will commit suicide and die from a heartbreak. This is also true for the lover if the person they loved dies.

The Lover can be a bit of a wild card due to the fact that their allegiance is fully with the person they fell in love with, and they are capable of falling in love with a player from any faction, such as the Mafia, giving them a fourth vote.

Strategies

• The town is always wary of a lover claim due to the existence of Heartbreaker and Swinger which are Mafia and Triad roles respectively which appear to be identical to the lover.
  • The lover, similarly to the survivor is at a constant threat of being lynched because of this.
• Open claiming lover is also dangerous as it makes the lover a target for the Mafia or Neutral killing as they will kill 2 players in one night due to the suicide a lover death causes.

Notes

• The lover is role block immune.
• If the lover is jailed on the first night, they will fall in love with the jailor.
  • If the jailor executes the lover, the jailor will die of heartbreak as a result.
• The suicide that occurs if either the lover or their target dies can be healed by a doctor, but they will attempt to commit suicide again each night for the rest of the game, the doctor must heal them every night.
• If the lover targets an alert veteran, the veteran will kill the lover, and then die as a result of heartbreak.
