Overview

The Executioner is a neutral role with no active abilities. The Executioner wins if his target is lynched during the day. If the target is killed at night, the Executioner may become a Jester depending on the settings.

Strategies

  • The Executioner can feign being a Sheriff or Investigator. This gives him the ability to bring distrust onto his target. He is also capable of convincing a Doctor to heal him at night after gaining the town's trust.
  • The Executioner has the best chance by claiming a power role for the town to get his target executed. To successfully do this, he must be willing to face scrutiny. Experience playing a Mafia role is helpful training since it offers practice deceiving other players.

Options

  • Becomes Jester upon failure - (Default: On)
  • Target is always Town - (Default: On)
  • Must survive to the end - (Default: On)
  • Invulnerable at Night - (Default: Off)

Notes

  • The Executioner is not rewarded any points until the game is over.
  • The Executioner gets many more points if he survives until the end of the game. In some cases, he only gets points if he survives until the end of the game.
  • Along with the Mason, Mayor, and Spy; the Executioner is one of four roles with no active night abilities.
  • Executioner can act as a Sheriff, to a small degree. When the settings are on limiting his target to a town-only role; it may be polite if he dies early to leave in his last will who his target town was. This will only work when the settings limit his target to a town-only role.
  • Executioner can also back-stab the town and "clear up" a Mafia member's role who is under suspicion. Again, this only works when the settings limit the target to a town-only role.
  • Assuming he got his target lynched, executioner wins with anyone. Once this goal is completed, he is basically a Survivor without a vest. It generally suits him best to side with the majority vote each day. Often, he will need to "promise" the town that they have his vote in order to survive from an attack by a Vigilante the following night or a lynching the following day if the town lacks proper leads on the Mafia, Serial Killer or Arsonist.
