Overview
The Bodyguard is a role good for keeping town aligned power roles alive. If you person you selected to guard at night is attacked, you and the attacker die instead of person being guarded.
- For example: The Sheriff is attacked at night by the Serial Killer after the Bodyguard selected to protect the Sheriff. The Serial Killer and the Bodyguard will die, but the Sheriff will survive.
Strategies
- A common strategy is to protect whoever has revealed themselves as Sheriff, Investigator, or even Doctor; the Mayor is an especially good target to protect since under standard settings Doctors can't heal him.
- If the ability to ignore invulnerability is enabled, feel free to protect people from the first night on. Otherwise, it may be a sound strategy to wait until there is a power role to save.
Options
- Ignores invulnerability - (Default: Off)
Notes
- If the Bodyguard successfully protects someone during the night, they can not be healed by a doctor to be alive the next day.
- If death descriptions or night sequence is enabled, both you and the attacker will be reported as dying from a duel.
- If you protect someone that was going to be executed by the Jailor, you will die in their place and the Jailor will die too.
