Overview

The Bodyguard is a role good for keeping town aligned power roles alive. If a player the Bodyguard selected at night is attacked, the Bodyguard and the attacker die instead of person being protected.

For example: The Sheriff is attacked at night by the Serial Killer after the Bodyguard selected to protect the Sheriff. The Serial Killer and the Bodyguard will die, but the Sheriff will survive.

Strategies

  • A common strategy is to protect whoever has revealed themselves as Sheriff, Investigator, or even Doctor; the Mayor is an especially good target to protect since under standard settings Doctors can't heal him.
  • If the ability to ignore invulnerability is enabled, feel free to protect people from the first night on. Otherwise, it may be a sound strategy to wait until there is a power role to save.

  • Care should be taken with who is protected at night when a Jailor is in play.

Options

  • Ignores invulnerability - (Default: Off)

Notes

  • If the Bodyguard successfully protects someone during the night, they can not be healed by a Doctor to be alive the next day.
  • If death descriptions or night sequence is enabled, both the Bodyguard and the attacker will be reported as dying from a duel.
