Overview
The Executioner is a neutral role with no active abilities; the Executioner wins if their target is lynched during the day. If the target is killed at night, the Executioner may become a Jester depending on the settings.
Strategies
- The Executioner can feign being a Sheriff or Investigator is a very viable strategy, with the ability to bring distrust onto his target as well as being to convince a Doctor to heal the Executioner at night.
- The Executioner has the best chance by claiming a power role for the town to get his target executed. To successfully do this, he must be willing to face scrutiny on their role claim. Experience playing a Mafia role in this way is helpful.
Options
- Becomes Jester upon failure - (Default: On)
- Target must be a Town role - (Default: On)
- Must survive to the end - (Default: On)
Notes
- The Executioner wins by lynching his target but isn't rewarded any points until the game is over.
- The Executioner gets much more points if he survives till the end, and in some cases he only gets points if he survives till the end.
- Along with the Mason, Mayor, and Spy, the Executioner is one of four roles with no active night ability.
- In a certain sense Executioner can be a Sheriff, to a degree. When the settings are on limiting his target to a town-only role, it may be a polite way to leave in your last will if you die early who a town role is. Or you can simply back-stab town and clear up a Mafia role who's under suspicion. This only works when the settings limit it to town-only, though.
- By also referring to the list, he could may determine in which alignment is the victim, and to help the town in lynch evildoer - a Executioner target
- Executioner wins with everyone, assuming he got his target lynched. Once this goal is completed, he is basically a Survivor without a vest, and it generally suits him best to side with the majority come each day. Often, he will need to "promise" town that they have his vote to even survive the following night from a Vigilante, or the following day from a lynch if they lack proper leads on Mafia/Serial Killer/Arsonist.
