The Consigliere is the Investigator on the Mafia side. He can check one target every night and determine clues as to the target's role.
Strategy
There are two important strategies for the Consigliere. The first is to identify the most powerful threats on the Town or nuetral side. The second is to deceive the Town into believing that the Consigliere is providing information as an Investigator. This second strategy is generally only recommended when a Sheriff is unable to check you or is unavailable on the Town side.
With preferred options the Consigliere will replace a Godfather (if one was present) that is removed from the game.

Some clues include:
"Your target has several knives" would be Doctor and Serial Killer
"Your target snoops around for information" would be Investigator and Consigliere
"Your target owns a lot of Gasoline" would be Arsonist
"Your target patrols the street at night" would be Sheriff
"Your target likes to spend quality time with people" would be Escort and Consort
"Your target is a mystic" would be Witch
"Your target is a member of secret society" - Mason
"own weapons" - Vigilante, Mafioso

"innocent" - Citizen , Survivor, Jester, Godfather (if immune)
