The Consigliere is Investigator on Mafia side. He can check one target every night and see what they can do.
Strategy
There are two imporant strategies for the Consigliere. The first is to identify the most powerful threats on the Town or nuetral side. The second is to deceive the Town into believing that the Consigliere is providing information as an Investigator. This second strategy is generally only recommended when a Sheriff is unable to check you or unavailable on the Town side.
With preferred options the Consigliere will replace Godfather if he is removed from the game.

Some clues include:

"Your target patrols the street at night" would be Sheriff
"Your target likes to spend quality time with people" would be Escort and Consort
"Your target is a mystic" would be Witch
"Your target is a member of secret society" - Mason
