Introducing a new mechanic. All players, reserves and spectators will be able to privatly send me a PM.

You send this PM when you think a player is under-performing/lurking and they will either be given a final warning, or replaced.

Any suggestions to perfect this mechanic would we welcome.

This is a mechanic that effects the hosting. Not the setup.

Eh, I refer you to my thoughts on this type of an idea from another game thread:

Any sort of a numerical cut-off is fraught with problems because undoubtedly, the host and player are going to get into a pissing match as to what constitutes a game-related or relevant post. If the idea to empower hosts to do something, they should just use their own judgment to decide whether a player is shitposting / non-participating enough to warrant a replacement. Any sort of an "objective" measure isn't going to work and will just be worked around. I understand hosts feel better having a clear rule, but at the end of the day, it's their game and they should be the sole judge of whether someone warrants replacement, not some arbitrary rule.

Sure, but that's my point -- why impose a bright-line standard if the host is going to have to use judgment to determine what counts anyway? I'd rather just let the host make the decisions based on his or her overall view of things. Not using a quota eliminates people complaining about what counted exactly. The host gets to make the decision period.

Its important that everyone knows the rules and are playing by the same ones.

But they do. The rule is that the host is going to be reading the game very carefully and if he makes the decision that your performance is sufficiently problematic (in terms of being AFK or shitposting), then the host reserves the right to replace you. Outside players have the right to notify the host if there's anything that he should be focusing on that he isn't.

I really don't see this being any less clear of a standard than 7 content posts or whatnot, because people are going to debate to the ends of the earth what counts as legitimate content. We both agree that the host maintains all power at all times to police his game, so I don't see there being a point in pretending that as soon as you make 7 content posts or whatnot, you can just shitpost or lurk to your heart's content.

but didnt we also jsut agree to say that players should moderate players as well? i think what SJ is basicly doing here is allowing such thing to happen. it would also encourage player/mod dicussion about stuff like this. it also stops people form going "i want X replaced" in thread and stuff liek that
